Steph was in France for this week so I got along on my own. I took care of some lingering chores and didn’t do anything too exciting.

Monday I went to choir rehearsal, which was back at the normal Pushkin House. Pushkin House is so tight and loud, but it works well for hearing ourselves. We did a new song from Arcane and Heartbreak Hotel. I’m enjoying the songs as they have a lot of character, even if they aren’t the epic 8 part harmonies of Christopher Tin.

I went to Hackney Central to get some key fobs on Tuesday and had lunch in the churchyard there, which was absolutely lovely.

Tuesday evening I went to a Halloween orchestral performance that Romana was in at the O2. I went there with Gokhan and we grabbed drinks beforehand. The performance was good, and included a song the choir will be performing. We went back to Kings Cross and grabbed a drink together after the show as well. It was great to see them and chat.

Friday morning the game jam results were in and I was happy that there was a spread of people winning the categories and overall. I was fourth overall with the game that was rated as most fun. I think that is my ideal outcome for the jam as I really didn’t want to win the first jam I hosted, but getting ranked as most fun is what I really cared about. That gives me the drive to make the game into a real game. You can try it out of you are so inclined: https://dgeisert.itch.io/kittykingdom

Friday evening I went to the Science Museum for the AI video showcase at the IMAX there. It was really neat to see all the videos being shown and I enjoyed getting the chance to chat with people there.

Saturday I went to Castle Climbing Centre for a few hours before meeting Stacie at a bookshop cafe for a chat nearby. She’ll be moving to the US more permanently so it will be sad to not have her around anymore. She’ll still be back in London every now and then.

Sunday was a ton of fun, with our Halloween performance in Mercato Mayfair. It went really well, and we finished out with one of the big Christopher Tin songs. Then we all went to a bar near London Bridge to celebrate Liz’s birthday. I played some Hanabi and some Codenames. It was a great group for codenames, and we had lots of heckling going on at the table.
