We joined Lindsay and Kevin for a fun evening of hot tubbing and switch games. Kevin was nice enough to join us at the hot tub despite not doing getting in and not doing well with the Chlorine. We then played some switch, mainly playing the game Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. I think Lindsay liked playing with us, but she certainly didn’t enjoy the game that much. Kevin I think liked it. I really enjoyed getting to spend some more time with them.

I joined Adam and Tina for a Feast for Odin expansion. The first game Adam won by a good bit, despite them thinking I was ahead. The second game went more in my favor. The horses seemed like a really good strategy, with animals in general getting a buff. I also got some really good occupations in the second game.
Steph and I went to a pie making class for Pi Day (3/14) and we had a pretty good time. We went with a few of the people Steph knew from Mayfield. The class was a lot of fun but rather unorganized. We made some thai curry for a filling, and made one batch of dough. We ended up with some really tasty pies, but I’m no sure I could recreate any of them. I am certainly less daunted by the pie making process, as most everything went off well, despite the lack of organization.
We played double legacy games at Georges and it worked better than expected. We put George as the one who played both, and he was able to keep up. I was the traitor on the scenario for Betrayal Legacy. I had a really good position for it and was able to defend just barely. It seemed like I blew them away, but they had multiple chances to with a snipe from the crossbow.

We met Riley and Rong at Omescape and jumped into the Joker’s Asylem escape room. George showed up a little late, which was good. The room really required 5 people to complete, as at one point all 5 needed to be doing something simultaneously.
Afterwards Steph headed off to play some Betrayal Legacy while the rest of us went to a bit of coffee and brunch. Riley and Rong decided they needed a real meal and went to some Korean BBQ, while George and I went back to his place and played some Smash.
I had a good time with Betrayal Legacy last night at George’s. We had five people playing including George, Adam, Yutong, Paul, and myself. Steph and Tina watched each other play. This was a lot of fun, and the first two sessions went pretty well. They were all really close and I ended up with the house deed both times. I wasn’t able to get any heirlooms and most of the others did, so we are on a pretty even playing field overall. I look forward to playing it some more.
While there was expressed interest in the book, this was a poor showing for book club. I think a lot of it was due to the book having more of a textbook nature than many of the others we’ve read in the past. Even other highly informative books have had more story to them. It was also didn’t have an Audible version, so it was more difficult for many, including myself, to get through in a timely manner.
There were only two people who came to book club having read the book. Debby and Andrew were nice enough to call in and marginally participate, but since they hadn’t read the book some of the more specific examples had them tuning out. I can understand where people were coming from with the book choice, and the not reading it. I think I’ll avoid these styles of books from now on.
