Watching Christian’s Ice Hockey

I don’t typically enjoy watching sports, but out of all of them I think hockey is the most exciting.  I especially like to watch people I know play, amateur players, and not have to sit in a crowd.  These all came together to make watching Christian’s game very nice.  For the first two periods his team was trailing and tied, but they were able to get a few good plays to close the game a win 5-3.  We went back to San Mateo and had some pizza afterwards, and it was quite tasty.

Dinner at Joya

Beachhead had a dinner night at Joya, and I was brought along.  This was rather nice since we all got to eat little bits of many things.  We ordered some Sangria and it was very tasty.  I had a quarter glass or so, and it was a white wine and peach sangria.  We had Candice, David, Kevin, Steph, and Iliya there with us.

Mario 3D

Jeremy and I played some Mario 3D on Sunday, with Steph giving support.  We were surprised that there was a bonus world for beating the bonus world.  The levels started getting incredibly hard in the second bonus world.  So hard that doing it single player was needed for one of the levels.  Jeremy also rode his bike over, and we got to take a look at it.  It is really pretty bike, but I’d want one with a bit more storage space.  Besides the lack of storage it is an amazing machine.

Global Game Jam 2014

I went to the SF location for the Global Game Jam 2014, and got a group to use my product.  It was a lot of fun, and the app performed perfectly.  I was able to build in a few of the things I’ve been meaning to anyway.  The game turned out well with a bit of a super smash feeling.  I’ll be using it as a launch title most likely.

Working around Shoreline Lake

I have been biking around and working in odd places more since I have been able to set up the mobile hotspot.  I stopped by Shoreline lake a few times and worked from there.  It is nice to be able to get out and work in beautiful places.

Dinner with the Lees

Stephanie’s parents came over for dinner on Sunday and we made tom yom for them.  They brought over some dishes from a Chinese restaurant, as well as a really tasty mango pudding.  I helped Mrs. Lee set up her new Nexus 7 that Steph got them for Christmas.  They talked about their plans for going to Patagonia and Iceland.

Hanging out at Andrew’s

After dinner Jeremy, Steph, and I went over to Andrew’s place to hang out.  Lindsey was there with Andrew making some Japanese Curry.  They were doing it the right way as well, so it was going to simmer for days.  Andrew showed us his new Lego crane that actually had many working, moving parts to it.  I was very impressed.  We watched an episode of Myth Busters and then headed back to Beachhead.

New Computer setup

I decided that If I was going to own so many devices and screens that I should make sure they are all working and usable when I want them.  To that effect I took this picture (not pictured is the phone I took it with).  There are the iOS devices (iPad + 2 iPhones), the Android (Nexus 7 and Galaxy S3), and the Kindle (3G e-ink and full color touch).  The computers are Linux on the Left, Windows in the middle, and the three screens on the right are MacOS.  I’m only missing the windows phone from my main arsenal before I start getting into the console development parts.

Hanging out at Beachhead

Steph and I hung out at Beachhead with Tina, David, Candice, Jeremy, and Lindsay.  I worked some while the others painted a bit on the minis and played Mario 3D on the Wii U.  We then played some open faced chinee poker.  It was fun, and as usual I was having large swings.  We all went for long outs on the final hand and all busted, which was pretty fun.  Jeremy was the big loser in the round with everyone else being positive.  I enjoyed the time just hanging out, but would have liked to have time to join in on the Mario 3D.
