Lunch at Google

I had lunch at Google today with Adam.  We talked over board games and how his first few weeks had been going.  We went to eat at a bbq place, and the food was really good.  I ate a little much, and had a lot of the really tasty drinks that they provided.

Brunch at Adam’s

Steph and I started the morning out well with a bike ride to Palo Alto.  The ride was very pleasant, but we didn’t get to stay very long there.  We went to the Chocolate Garage and I got some of the Momotombo candies.  There was a big barbershop choir there and they sounded pretty good.  It was different to hear the barbershop style of singing as a choir instead of a pure quartet.

A group of us got together at Adam’s today for Brunch.  It was really nice of him to have us over since he had spent the last week at his new job.  From what I can tell he isn’t used to working so much.  It was rather tasty, with Adam providing eggs, bacon, and liquor soaked fruit.  I brought the chocolates I had just picked up.  We went to the movie Pacific Rim, but weren’t joined by Tina and Amit.  Nick, Adam, Steph, and Andrew left from there to go to the movie.  At the theatre we met up with Brian.

Korean BBQ

Wit, Riley, Nick, and I went to Jang Su Jang (Yelp Link) last ;night and it was quite tasty.  I haven’t been eating much meat lately, and the last time I did I got sick, so I stayed away from the actual bbq part of it.  I got some of the tasty tofu, dumpling soup.  I really enjoyed the food and the company.  Afterwards we went to Honeyberry (Yelp Link) for desert.  I got the creme cheese roti bun, and it was delicious.

Monday Volleyball … ish

Yesterday after finishing work, I went to Stanford to play volleyball.  Not many of the people that I wanted to play with were there.  Nima was, but the other people playing volleyball were much better than him, and he is much better than me.  I decided to not bother those guys too much, and let Nima play a game without me.  I got a little bit more work done while he was playing and got to watch two pretty good games at the same time.  We then went to Sliders in Palo Alto.  We split a pitcher of Great White, which was a nice orange beer.  The sweet potato fries were really tasty, and I got 2 sliders to complete the dinner.  I went over to Steph’s after that and saw her finish off her Messenger bag for the Faith outfit.  It was really nice.

Cal Ave Farmer’s Market

I stopped by the Cal Ave farmer’s market this morning and got a Samosa, then stopped by the Bolani tent to get 8 of the pumpkin Bolani and one each of the basil pesto and sun-dried tomato pesto.  I got so much since we aren’t going to be able to stop by and get some more next weekend.  The guy didn’t quite recognize me by myself, but that is ok.  He recognized me after I got 8 of the pumpkin.  On the way out I decided to grab a Mango Lassi, and it was quite tasty.

Working and Meeting with People in the City

I had a great time in the city today.  I took Caltrain in and biked to Chris’ place.  We worked on our respective items, and he was nice enough to make me some eggs with spinach, tomato, and onion.  He also gave me some delicious tea.  He always has the tastiest loose leaf tea.  We worked until around 1:30, when I left to go meet Bo at Sightglass Coffee.  The coffee was pretty good, but I still prefer tea to coffee.  We talked over a lot of stuff, and he seems to be doing well with the Meteor work.  Even though he isn’t working for Meteor directly he seems to be doing the next best thing.  I caught the train back and stopped by Milk Pail and Safeway on the way home.

The Creamery in Palo Alto

We went to the Creamery in Palo Alto for dinner, and I got the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich.  I was joined by Riley, Steph, Tina, Candice, and Brian.  We chatted about all sorts of stuff, most of it drama and board games.  The milkshakes that Steph and Tina got were really tasty, and they were both kind enough to share a good bit of them with me.  Milkshakes with Oreo are amazing, but so bad for any diet.

California Ave Farmer’s Market

This morning I woke up to do some chores before Steph got up and got going.  Then we headed to the farmer’s market on Cal Ave.  The Bolani guy said he had missed us and called us the ‘pumpkin people’ which I like.  Steph got some other stuff there, but I think I’m going to keep to Milk Pail mainly.

Milk Pail Morning

This morning Steph and I went by the Milk Pail Market.  It was a nice bike ride and we filled up both of our backpacks for $25.  I got some interesting lemon cucumbers, that I’m looking forward to trying.  We got some Stilton for Steph, and I got a piece of jalapeno cheese, both of which were fantastic.  We looked up how to harvest olives and walnuts as we have both growing in my backyard and they will be ready to harvest in a month or so.  The walnuts are already falling of the tree and I’ll start grabbing them each morning and getting them starting to dry.  I’ll brine a good number of olives once they start falling off the tree.  Steph wants to try making olive oil, but I think I’ll stick to brining some jars of olives as that is much easier.
