Portal 2 and Move

I finally got to Jeffs and wasn’t able to get in, but the garage was comphy and got a quick 30 min nap.  Jeff cooked some really nice pasta with Shirataki noodles.  These were some pretty good noodles.  Olive is adorable and I got to play with her while Jeff cooked.

We played a round of Portal 2 racing, which was pretty interesting and well done.  There were parts of it that you could really mess with the other racer by overwriting their portals.

After that we played Bocci Ball, Ping Pong, Archery, and Frisbee Golf.  Jeff won most of it, but it was a good time.

Mariokart and Goldeneye

Today I got to play some Mariokart and Goldeneye against Jamie.  She talks a lot of smack and backs it up… mostly.  I have to say that I’m good at Mariokart, but she is better.   I did know some of the secrets that she didn’t, but that can only go so far.  In Goldeneye I am still the master.  We played 3 matches and each time it ended 5-1 with my victory.  She was very good, and knew many of the methods, but I am the Goldeneye champ.

Yet More Civ5

Last night Steph and I completed out game of diplomatic victory.  She is incredibly competitive about the game.  I had 125 hours of Civ 4 and now have 44 hours of Civ 5 played, so she shouldn’t be too surprised.

GeoGuessr

Friday night and Saturday night this weekend we played a game called GeoGuessr.  It is a really fun game where you are placed randomly somewhere in street view and you are supposed to figure out where by just moving around and looking at things.  It is really difficult sometimes when you are placed in a random field, but when you are in the cities it isn’t too bad.

Space Commander

Last night, Steph, Nick, Brian, Jeff, and Chris played Space Commander with me.  It was an interesting game full of many minigames.  These minigames were supposed to rotate between people, but we wanted to get used to the game and chose to not do that.  The game was very difficult, confusing, and complex.  I did not like the game at all.  I don’t think I would have liked it much better had I been at a different station.  I was playing the Helm station and controlling where the ship went, which was decently easy.  I was able to get where I wanted most of the time, but not all the time.  We landed on the crystals many times, but were never really set up to pick them up because we were focusing on killing the enemies.  It would have been much better to zoom in, pick up the crystals, and zoom out.  I don’t think I’m willing to play this game again.

BGG LInk

Again, Civ5

Steph and I started a new game last night, we are going for diplomatic victory on a Pangea map.  We can’t find some of the Civs, so there may be another continent that we just can’t see.

Finished the Civ5 Game

Last night Steph and I finished the Civ 5 game.  I absolutely destroyed my civ to push it to full production for the science victory.  Before that we decided that India was getting too powerful, since they were higher score than either of us.  India was also starting to encroach on our borders.  We took a 2 front approach and pinched India in the middle.  We also had a far superior navy and were able to bombard the cities so that they had no chance.  We started taking out India’s ally, America, but competed the spaceship first.

More Civ5

After making some Thailand reservations, Steph and I played a good bit more of our Civ5 game last night.  We ended up destroying one civ that decided I was getting annoying.  I had a city really close to his border, but it was across water.  With that he wasn’t able to storm the shores, so Steph and I used our superior navy to bombard all his units and cities.  Eventually we took him down.  I get the feeling that a few other of my cities will find the same fate, but it is hard to say.

Civ 5

Steph and I played a good bit of Civ5 last night.  I got a really good situation where I could expand and grow quickly.  The empire I had got a bonus in the food and culture gained from city-states.  This bonus game in handy when I was expanding out and the cities would rocket to size 5 or 6 with no problems.  I had a problem with happiness but solved most of it from building Notre Dame.  We got pretty far, but still have a long way to go to finish the game.  Perhaps we can do that some day this week.
